UYS # 285 - Sketch

Hello :) Tina here with this week's challenge. I'm challenging you to use Sketch for your layout, or you can use for a card too :)

This is what I created with some pictures of some new Lawn Art that we got over the summer:

Head over to my blog for close up shots of the layout.

My DT sisters created some awesome projects for this challenge :)

I came up with this...  got rid of some older Halloween stash that I have
so much of because it's just the best holiday ever imo.

For this sketch, I decided to feature pictures of my daughter and her friends before going to their Homecoming dance.

I turned the sketch into an ATC using my new RubberMoon stamps. The stamp in the background is from Darkroom Door.

Amanda
I rotated the sketch to the right and used it to scrap these photos of my son from a few years ago.

I used photos from my younger daughter's recent birthday celebration at a local restaurant.

We look forward to seeing what you create with this fun challenge :)

Challenge #284 - Tis The Season For Pumpkin Spice

Hello, scrappy friends! Happy Monday to you! I hope that you enjoyed your weekend and are ready to get this week started.

It's Lori here today bringing you this week's challenge - Tis The Season For Pumpkin Spice - Use orange - a little or a lot - on your project - OR - add a pumpkin to your project.

For my card this week, I have used a little bit of orange;

Here's a look at what our talented design team has created:

A Halloween card with orange and a pumpkin.

Amanda

I made a cute little Halloween tag to use on a layout at a later time.

For this challenge, I did a planner spread using various shades of orange.

Amy.L
Being in Australia we don't a big Halloween (unfortunately), so I have done an art journal page with some of the colours I associate with Halloween as well as some pictures.
There will be a process video and blog post on this later in the week.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! We hope you have a chance to play along with us this week!

Challenge #283: Breast Cancer Awareness

Hello - Chris C. here to bring you a new challenge.  Since October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month I would like to see PINK in your project.

My mother had breast cancer twice but she survived and passed away peacefully at 99 years of age on December 23, 2015. So I did this layout about her and how at 17 (when this photo was taken) she had no idea what life had in store for her.

For this project, I used pink as the background color for two reasons.  One it is the foundation of the paper layering on this project.  Two it's a tribute to all the warriors out there who have looked cancer in the face and said, "You are not going to win!"  Your strength is humbling.

I used a texture stamps from Darkroom Door with Distress Oxide in *Picked Raspberry*. I stamped a banksy girl from Viva LasVega Stamps also with Distress Oxides and adhered some words from Art Journey

While Breast cancer is of course a serious issue in women's health, I have decided to focus
my pink page on a positive in a woman's life, a new baby girl.

Amanda

I used some pink as an accent in this layout to bring a pop of color to it!

Tina

I used pink for some of the layering and some of the accents

Highlights for Challenge 282 - The BLUES

Happy Sunday everyone! And for you people celebrating a long weekend (in Canada - Thanksgiving; in the U.S. - Columbus Day), I hope it's a safe and happy one.

I loved all the blue projects that were posted this week, but since I can only pick three, these are my faves.

I love a great multi-photo layout and this one is fabulous from crafty sahm I am (great blog name by the way).

Onions and Paper created this stunning card.  I have this paper and totally want to lift this idea.

And from Red Obsession Cards comes this adorable image on a snowy card. Her colouring is awesome.

Stay tuned for a new challenge tomorrow.

Challenge #282: The Blues

Hello - Gail here and it's my turn to host this week's challenge.  I love BLUES music and my favourite colour of clothing is blue (navy, teal, turquoise...all shades of blue).  So this week, I'd like to see the colour blue predominantly used on your projects.

Here's my layout using a PageMaps sketch and a KaiserCraft paper kit called Indigo Skies.  The background may look black and white but it's actually navy and white.  To see what other products I used please check my blog here.

Amanda

My son's dinosaur themed birthday party was this past weekend so I created this
fun banner to display at the party!

Amy.L

I created a layout using lots of blue! Blue acrylic paint as the main feature in the background then used various ephemera pieces to embellish the page. There will be a process video over on my channel for this layout during the week as well as a blog post with more detailed pics.

For this challenge, I colored a copic scene image using the Art Impressions Crafty Girls Set.  My card uses four different blue color combos as well as three different patterned papers containing blue and blue gems.

Using lots of blues on my layout

Used lots of blues on my LO of my husband and our oldest.
