Weekly Challenge #95 - Twine

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a fantastic summer. Here in Ontario it is almost half over! Eeeek. Where does the time go?

This week's challenge is to use some twine on your project. I know I went through a bit of a twine buying phase a little while ago and managed to amass quite the collection. Most of the packages are not even opened!! I used it on this page about a mini vacation we took to Toronto a while back. I only managed to use one colour but it's got me thinking of how else I can use it.

What can you come up with?

Lynne

I used the twine to tie my buttons onto the layout.

Challenge # 94 ~ Hello Washi

Hola challenge-istas,

We love washi tape and we think some of you do too.
That means some of us may have a small stash (okay maybe not that small) of this wonderful stuff!

We challenge you to get out that washi tape and use it on this weeks project.
The more you use the better. We wanna see the many ways that you use your washi tape.

Go forth and be creative!!

Joy
I used 5 colours of washi tape behind the stars I cut on the out of background paper.

Lynne

I do not have much washi tape.  It took a lot to convince me that I had to have it.
I used a few small pieces as embellishments to complement the wood veneers.

Barb
I used lots of washi tape on my project.

Milena
My apologies for being late this week. I was on vacation in lovely Hawaii. I didn't do this project specifically for this challenge but I thought it was appropriate. I love notebooks. My husband bought me a lovely Moleskine Travel Journal for Mother's Day and I used it for our trip. I couldn't just leave it plain black though so I covered the front with Washi tape. Each tape design coordinates with a leg of the trip and the pages inside are also decorated with Washi. I love my Washi. I've been collecting it for quite a while and am finally using it on all different projects.

Ad Challenge - Project Highlight

Thanks to those who played along with us this week. We've chosen this adorable card by Sarah on Paper Tree. I think you'll agree that it's so adorable. Any little boy would love to get this card!

#93 - Ad Challenge

Welcome to another week on the Use Your Stuff Challenge Blog. I hope you're still feeling creative now that the nice summer weather has arrived.

This week we have an Ad Challenge for you. The idea is to use this advertisment to inspire your next project in some way.

I used the basic design in my layout.

So, how is this ad inspiring you? I can't wait to see what you come up with. Don't forget to come back here and share your finished project.

Joy
I liked the photo strip and large photo from the inspiration ad. I used many older
label stickers to make the border at the top of my large photo.

Lynne
I too liked the large photo and the smaller strip of photos.  I moved the small strip and grabbed some old vellum and last year's summer papers form Echo Park for embellishments.

Challenge #92 - Baby on the Brain

Our newest DT member Sarah is pregnant with her fourth child, YAY! congrats Sarah.
She's got baby on the brain for some reason so lets give her some inspiration.

Your challenge this week:
Make a project for baby, about a baby or inspired by babies.

Let's see what the ladies made this week......

Barb
I had so much fun with this challenge. It's been a while since I've worked on baby pictures of my boys.

Joy
I used print and cuts from the Silhouette store foe this card. I cut the clothes twice to
add some dimension to some of them. The bird is an old embellishment from October Afternoon.

Lynne
I did this one recently of me at 3 weeks old.

When I came up with this challenge I originally planned on working on my son's baby book, but when I sat down to scrap, I was inspired by this picture of my two youngest at Hell's Gate. But there IS a baby in the picture! lol

Challenge #91 Highlight

Thank you Julene & Leah for playing along this week.
Julene, I love the way you highlighted those bridesmaid photos and your long term friendships

Leah, I like the layout design and the fact that your dog looks like mine.

Thank you both for playing along with us this week.
It was a tough challenge and you both conquered it beautifully.
Be sure to grab your badge.  You both deserve it.

Challenge #91 - Filmstrip

Hi everyone.  Lynne here.
This week I challenge you all to use a 'filmstrip' style on your layout or card.  As a scrapper, I take a lot of photos (I am sure you can relate) and while most of us no longer use a camera that produces negatives, I can't help but relate to that 'look'.  Have fun.

Milena
I love the look of filmstrips on a page. I think they're a great way to get a lot of photos - especially those with a sequence - on a page.

Barb
I used film strips as an accent on this page.
