Challenge #27 - Ad Inspiration

Happy Monday everyone.
What great participation we had last week! We were thrilled that so many came out to play and share their creations.

This week's challenge is an advertisement challenge. Take a look at the challenge below and use it to inspire your creativity in some way. Whether it's the colours, the layout, or the photography, see what you feel inspired to create. When you're done, come back and share a link to your finished card, layout, altered project, or any other project. We'd love to see what you come up with.

On to the ad:

Here's my finished project using this ad:

Lynne,
I, too, was inspired by the LO of the ad but as I do a lot of 8.5x11 layouts, I had to change it a little to accommodate that size. Thanks for finding an interesting ad, Barb.

Joy,
I was inspired by the strip of photos on the left of the ad. I think this is a fabulous design, I will totally be doing a layout with this design. Great pick Barb.

Bronwyn
Hey! I'm here too! I'm a little slow on the uptake, but I loves the design of this ad so I wanted to get something done for the challenge.

Challenge #26 anything goes

Hello again, we hope you had a great weekend. This is a first here at UYS. This weeks challenge has
no rules, no restrictions. Use whatever you want from your stash.

I have been wanting to make a canvas project for a little while so I thought this
was the perfect week to give it a go.

I've had this canvas for years so I'm happy I finally used it. I also broke out some old
making memories paint to make a colour wash.

What are you going to make this week?

Lynne

I have noticed lately that circles are making a comeback as a central part of a layout. I have a current special CK issue and there is a layout with circles as a design element on just about every page. So I found a sketch that I liked and did this layout. Who says that pictures have to be square or rectangular?

Bronwyn

I REALLY wanted to use this darling Basic Grey Santa Claus paper because I  ADORE those bagpipe-playing Santas seen at the bottom.  I have scrapped almost all of my Christmas 2011 pics so this was one of my last chances to use it.  These pictures feature all of the food we made and consumed on Christmas Eve Day.
I used a sketch from Sketch Support for my layout.

Barb
Once again, I'm a little late to the party. Last week we were away on vacation so I wasn't able to get to this challenge until yesterday. You know what they say ... better late than never.

For this challenge I pulled out a Basic Grey kit and pretty much just used the design in the kit along with all the products. I know, I'm cheating a little, but it works when you're short on time, and since this is an anything goes challenge, this qualifies.

We would love it if you shared your project here with us so don't forget to
link it up using Mr. Linky below.

Shape Study: Hexagons

Hi there! Bronwyn here. It's my turn, once again, to choose the challenge for Use Your Stuff. I am an avid "pinner" and find tons of inspiration from others who have joined Pinterest. Lately I have really been drawn to patchwork quilting. I see such wonderful images on Pinterest. Here are some of may faves, all on a HEXAGON theme:

It's caught on in paper crafting, too!

Here's mine:

"Always Be True"

SO ...My challenge this week? Use some Hexis in your creation.
C'mon - let's see what you've got!!
Lynne
I love that Bronwyn and I used the same papers. I have decided to make another heritage album as I have a lot of old photos. These papers lent themselves perfectly to that end. And, the hexagons are a old classic shape.

Joy

I am lovin' hexagons. I cut out two different sizes of hexagons with my Silhouette, layered them then glued them to a 4.0 x 5.25" card base. I left the design simple so the hexagons took center stage.

Color Challenge - Candy Colors

HI everyone. I am filling in for Joy a little earlier this month.
I had a bit of a sweet tooth when I doing this LO and all I could think of were M&M’s. So do a LO using CANDY COLORS. I can't wait to see what all of you come up with.

My youngest son was a VERY good boy on our trip to the  drugstore the other day, so I treated him to a box of SMARTIES at the  check-out.  He thought he had died and went to heaven (and I peaked to see the colourful inspiration in the box!) Here is my layout on a Smartie-coloured theme:

Barb

I'm going to have to cheat a little here. I had very good intentions to dive right in this weekend with this challenge and create something yummy with these fabulous colours. However, getting family members ready for two different trips has taken more of my attention than I cared for. So, I went to my files and thought I would post this layout that I did for the Scrapping Bug Design Team a few months ago. The best part is, it's actually about candy!
